How to Tie a Neck Scarf

neck scarf tying

What would you think the best accessories to add color for your winter wardrobe unless getting yourself a neck scarf? Neck scarves or necktie scarves are made of beautiful prints and assorted fabrics are complement of glam to any dress. They are also fit for casual as well as formal events as far as you know how to tie a scarf. Generally, there are various neck scarf tying methods that you could try on yourself. To name a few of scarf knots: a chain knot wrap, muffler, Ascot wrap, bow tie, French knot, loose wrap and Four-in-Hand knot.

Chain Knot Wrap or Scarf Turban

Chain Knot Wrap – This technique is fairly similar to as wearing a scarf turban by some Sikhs and Muslims in the way that you wrap the scarf around your head, starting from the nape. Tying the knots will be easy as when you bring the scarf forward on the head crown – cross the ends twice, and bring both ends back under to the nape of your neck. Tie a knot to secure the scarf, and voila you have your chain knot wrap! You could use thin scarves or a rectangle long scarf with crinkly fabric to make your personality really stands out. Also, you could style your hair with a ponytail or let it freestyle.

Muffler – You could wear neck scarves, square scarves and rectangle long scarves to tie a Muffler. For a rectangle scarf, first you should fold the scarf in half length-wise to make it resemble a square. Fold one corner to the middle of the opposite side so that it forms a triangle. Put two ends of the triangle around the back of your neck, leaving a point hanging down in the center of your bust. Tie the scarf in the back and adjust accordingly. Personally, I would suggest wearing a rectangle scarf to add some volume on your neckline. A square scarf made of silk is best suited for formal wearing.

Bow Tie just do like Tying Shoe Lace

Ascot Wrap – This would be a simple tying scarf to get stylish. Begin with by hanging your scarf around the neck. Then, wrap one end over another end twice. The second wrap, bring the end up through the loop at your neck. Spread out the top of the knot so that it covers the layer beneath. And, you’re good to go. You would choose Cashmere scarf, Pashmina, silk scarf and wool scarf provided they are long enough to be wrapped around your neck.

Bow Tie Wrap – Put the scarf around the back of your neck with both sides hanging down in front evenly. Tie a simple bow in the front just like you are tying your shoes lace. You can tie the bow close to your neck or keep it farther away, whichever you prefer. A bow tie wrap is best for slender women when you are feeling extra girly.

French knot – Start by putting the scarf around the front of your neck so the ends hang in back. Wrap the ends around and bring them to the front and loosen the loop so that it’s comfortable rest around your neck. And, bring the ends to one side near your shoulder, then tie a loose knot and then a second tighter knot.

Loose Wrap in style for Vanessa Hudgens

Loose Wrap – In similar position to a French knot, put the scarf around the front of your neck with the ends hanging in back. Bring the ends back around evenly so they hang in front. There you’ll have a loose wrap!

Four-in-Hand knot – Start with the rectangle long scarf, fold in half. Place the scarf around the back of your neck with a loop on one side and the ends on the other. Pull one of the ends through the loop. Twist the loop. Pull the other end of the scarf through the loop. Adjust the scarf for fit so it lies flat on your chest.

Now you know that there are so many styles on how to tie a neck scarf to look yourself fabulous.  With your scarf collection; Cashmere scarves, Pashmina, jersey, silk, wool and cotton scarves, this is the moment to get practice tying a scarf. You want to look good? Style your scarves!
